Mental game of your ads
And how its 93% of your ad's success
Yooo.
Dropped part 1 of my “Lickin’ good ad 101” last Monday.
This is the part 2.
Last time I went over the basics and general shi, but today…
I’m dropping the real sauce.
The mental game of ads you don’t see often in social media.
No “talk about benefits”.
No “speak in conversational tone”.
No “disrupt them with catchy hook”.
We’ve all seen this a million times.
But this…
Is something you need to know if you really want to sell big.
6 months ago, I was totally clueless about this.
If I wasn’t, I would already be on the Forbes magazine and making 50k/mo.
So…
Strap yourself in.
And let’s go.
Who are you talking to right now?
Who is it you think you see?
- famous words of Walter White.
But he’s giving us a great insight on building our ads.
Your copy can be state-of-the-art and straight out of Ogilvy’s swipe file.
But if you are not speaking to right people…
Forget about anything positive.
You might get a sale or two.
But the ad is gonna flop.
Example:
Imagine you’re selling high-ticket floor-cleaning services.
Naturally you’re gonna target people who are:
Able to afford your service
Ready to afford it
Have a problem you can solve
Are looking for a solution (or not)
Which means…
They will be problem or solution aware.
But if you write an ad copy that targets unaware audience…
It’s gonna flop.
You can’t write copy that doesn’t speak to your target audience.
Unaware copy → Unaware audience
Problem aware copy → Problem aware audience
Solution aware copy → Solution aware audience
And vice versa.
Confession:
I made this mistake a few months ago.
I wasn’t targeting the audience we wanted.
And that’s why my client couldn’t close even 1 out of 15 leads.
Even though I increased his leads by 3X.
So he was getting unqualified leads.
I was totally oblivious to why it happened back then.
Now I would totally drown him in clients.
I hope we can start working again.
Takeaway:
Don’t make this mistake.
Learn from my mistakes.
Ask your client for his target audience.
Next Saturday I will drop part 3 to this mini-series.
I will expand on the “Awareness” topic and give you more crazy insights on this.
Stay tuned!
If you’re a brand/business struggling with sales - listen up.
I can’t help everyone and I don’t know if I can even help you, but…
I’m onboarding busy folks who want to 2.2X their clicks and 2.7X their leads (overnight) without paying a huge price tag and giving away brand ownership to an agency.
